Charity Fundraising Regulator

The Fundraising Regulator has just set up its new website at www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk. It is due to start work this summer.
It is the independent regulator of charitable fundraising set up to strengthen the system of charity regulation and restore public trust in fundraising.
The role as regulator includes :
• Setting and promoting standards for fundraising practice
• Investigating cases where fundraising practices have led to significant public concern.
• Adjudicating complaints from the public about fundraising practice, where these cannot be resolved by the charities themselves.
• Operating a funding preference service to enable individuals to manage their contact with charities.
• Where poor fundraising practice is judged to have taken place, recommend best practice guidance and impose proportionate sanctions.
